My Vanity Space

Is it just me or does anyone else have those random days when all you want to do is clean and reorganize? Well, I recently had one of those days. I have wanted to reorganize my vanity space for quite some time, I have actually wanted to purchase another vanity desk, but I told myself to try to hold out until we move. So I decided to keep working with what I have. I have had this desk for quite some time, it’s so awkward, the paint is coming off, and there weird shelves on the side. With all the weird things going on with this desk, I found a way to make it work (the desktop anyway, we’re going to deal with the shelves another day)

A little while ago I purchased some acrylic storage containers. With the desk being so oddly made, I found it hard to find a nice arrangement, but I kept playing around with it and found something that actually worked.

I didn’t change much with my makeup brushes; I store them in old candle jars that I cleaned out. I keep face brushes in one and eye brushes in another. I place them on the top shelf of the weird side shelves. On this shelf, I also keep a few of my go to hair products, a lamp, and some fake flowers.

It’s not a perfect set up, and it is by no means what I want my space to look like, but it works for me right now.

Fall Tones

Ok ladies, one thing you need to know about me, I love fall! It’s my favorite season of all, the weather is perfect, the air is crisp, the trees are beautiful, and the fashion is perfect to hide this extra weight. Another thing I love is the fall makeup trends. Now, I personally love wearing a dark lip year round because of my beautiful chocolate skin tone, it just suites me so much better than lighter colors. But, for my beauties out there that only wear dark lips in the appropriate seasons, I want to share with you some of my favorite fall lip colors.

Now, these are no high end, crazy expensive products. Honestly, they came from my local beauty supply store. I’m sorry, but I love shopping at the beauty supply. I find dupes to so many high end products, don’t get me wrong, I do take a trip to Ulta and Sephora every now and then, but I’m kind of frugal (I’ll admit it) I like my money to go a long way.

SYL- Currant #130 (burgundy lip pencil)
Nika K- Cocoa A171 (brown lip pencil)

Only Time Will Tell

You never really know how much your life can change in such little time. I won’t sit here and tell my whole life story but, I’ll tell you a little about the past year or so, it’s pretty much what led up to this point right here.
So where do I begin? It was around the beginning of August 2015 when I found out I was pregnant. I didn’t know what to think, or how to tell my husband, because we were NOT ready for a child. I finally told him, well I started to tell him, but he sort of already knew as soon as I sat him down. We talked things out and calmed ourselves down, and really began to prepare our new bundle of joy.
Fast forward four months, we find out we’re have a boy! My husband was super excited, I was too, but not like him. You know how men are about their boys. The first thing we did after that appointment was go buy our boy his fist outfit.

Fast forward for more months, it’s now February 2016 and it’s time for the baby shower! It was such an amazing day. A room full of friends and family and so much love all for our baby boy! This is also the day his name was revealed to most of our friends and family. We decided to name him Kayden Stone, a strong name for our little one.

Fast forward to March 30, 2016, Kayden Stone made his appearance! We all fell in love. (I’ll save my labor and delivery story for another day)

Today, my son is six months old, he is happy and healthy, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world. I love being a mom; it’s such an amazing feeling. My life has changed so much since he’s been in it, I feel like I have become a better person. I’m happier, I’m more focused, I just want to create a better life for not only myself, but for my whole family.
